David McLaughlin is president and CEO of Columbia Advisory Group and is responsible for collaborating with client leaders to develop industry leading technology and business solutions. He is a well-respected advisor, technology leader, consultant, and IT performance expert with a proven track record in many aspects of the technology and technology services industries.
David has served as CIO and senior advisor to clients in many industries. He’s worked extensively with private equity groups, venture investors and senior management to evaluate and optimize their investment in information technology. David has worked with more than 300 IT departments and participated in more than 200 merger and acquisition projects, pre- and post-transaction, assisting investors with more than $4 billion in equity and venture investments.
David is the author of “Information Technology Uncovered: What Every Financial Officer Should Know” Corporate Finance Review and has been named “Who’s Who in Dallas High Tech” by D Magazine. His articles and interviews have appeared in many issues of Mergers and Acquisitions Journal, Information Week, CIO Magazine, Investors Business Daily, Buyouts and he has been a panelist in industry due-diligence forums.
David earned his BBA degree in Business Analysis from Texas A&M University. He and his wife, Luzona, reside in Dallas, Texas.
As Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Columbia Advisory Group, Steve Erwin is responsible for all managed services, as well as setting the technology direction for the company and its clients.
Steve has 25 years of IT experience in managed services, project management, infrastructure management, IT due diligence, security, compliance, data center rationalization, and operations. He has significant expertise in assisting clients to more efficiently operate technology and is an industry leader in technology infrastructure and data center efficiency.
His experience ranges across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, financial services, professional services, higher education, staffing, healthcare, software, and e-commerce. Over the past 10 years, Steve helped clients save millions in IT costs.
Steve earned a CEH, ITIL Foundations, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP and CWA during his career. Steve and his wife, Cheryl, reside just outside of Dallas in Flower Mound, Texas.
Conner Huckaby serves as a Vice President and is responsible for the IT strategy group that conducts due diligence and assessments for Columbia Advisory Group’s clients. He drives the research and analysis, which is vital to developing accurate and actionable recommendations, as well as overseeing the implementation of the recommendations.
After a decade in the consulting industry, Conner has conducted more than 125 strategic IT assessments and due diligence projects across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, higher education, financial services, healthcare, retail, industrial, software, technology services, and e-commerce sectors. He has experience in mergers and acquisition advisory, due diligence and assessment services, project management, business operations, IT services, and business process design.
Conner earned his bachelor’s degree in science from Southern Methodist University’s Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering in Engineering Management and Information Systems and participates in continuing education with the school. He is an active participant in fundraising and development for the Lyle School and various other Southern Methodist University’s alumni programs, as well as programs in the Uptown and Park Cities communities.
A native Texan who spent the majority of his younger life in Washington, DC, Conner returned to Texas to complete high school before attending college in Dallas. After completing his undergraduate degree, Conner chose to reside in Dallas.
As Vice President of Service Delivery at Columbia Advisory Group, Robert Tellone is responsible for ensuring the customer service experience for both the company and its clients is professional, sincere, and reflective of corporate culture. He assists in driving structure as well as enhancing operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction strategies.
Robert is also responsible for the creation and direction of the Audio Visual Solutions division, which is now one of the fastest growing areas within Columbia Advisory Group. The AVS practice began as a project with one of Columbia’s largest clients. The growing use of multimedia has fueled the expansion, which now includes education, healthcare, hospitality, Fortune 1000 corporations, and entertainment venues.
Robert has comprehensive knowledge in service delivery, business development, rightsizing, and technology. Robert co-founded several start-ups including OfficeBuys.com, Knowledgebase.com, and vBC Cloud; he has sat on advisory boards for SonicWall, Kace, LANDesk, VMware, and the Help Desk Institute. During his time in Silicon Valley, he helped pioneer such technologies as Disaster Recovery As A Service (DRAAS) and the Private Cloud Appliance. He and his company, vBC Cloud, were acknowledged by CRN Magazine at the first annual Cloud Connect conference in 2010 for demystifying the Cloud.
His experience ranges across a variety of industries, including information technology, higher education, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, staffing, cloud computing, and financial services.
Robert and his wife Samantha reside in Dallas, Texas with their two pugs, Basher and Belly.
David D. Maxwell serves as the Leader of Information Security at Columbia Advisory Group. He is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s cyber security/cyber threat assessment team, as well as providing strategic leadership, performance management and program support.
Prior to joining Columbia Advisory Group, Maxwell spent 16 years with Alcon and most recently served as the company’s Global IT Head of Information Governance and Management Security. He was responsible for security reviews and tests, eDiscovery, risk management, compliance and remediation efforts, and vendor assessments, among others. During his Alcon tenure, he also served as the Manager of eDiscovery and Investigations for three years. Maxwell started at Alcon as Manager of Internet Applications.
Prior to Alcon, Maxwell was the Manager of Electronic Development for The Dallas Morning News/AH Belo, where he helped to launch the news publication’s website, as well as other start-ups under the Belo corporation. He began his IT career at Justin Boot Company.
Maxwell is a certified IT professional with a CISM, CISA and CISSP. He earned his BA Cum Laude from Northwood University and his Masters in IT with a core in Security from American InterContinental University. Away from the office, David enjoys fly fishing, culinary arts and the great outdoors.
Christine Conwell is the Director of Talent Acquisition for Columbia Advisory Group where she is responsible for partnering with hiring managers and IT professionals to recruit and build world-class teams. Conwell has managed several national client relationships, conducting searches for matrixed organizations, co-sourced services, and rapidly growing environments at all levels within the IT organization.
With more than 15 years of recruiting and account management executive experience, specializing in the areas of Information Technology and Audit/Finance, Conwell has built national recruiting and client executive teams that provide staffing, direct hire, and executive talent acquisition for middle-market niche firms and multi-billion dollar enterprises.
Conwell’s previous experience as a firm owner and CEO provide a wealth of recruiting industry experience, such as applicant tracking system (ATS) implementation and improvement projects, training and education modeling, internet search techniques, client relationship management, negotiation tactics, high-performance team management, and much more.
Additionally, Conwell co-founded a national business hiring solutions and professional consulting firm based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Her organization was a national partner for four of the top eight professional service firms and was successful in obtaining several national agreements with Fortune 500 companies.
Conwell received her Bachelors of Science degree in Public Relations from the University of North Texas. She and her husband, Steve, reside in Flower Mound, TX.
Lindsay Boykin is the Director of Business Development and is responsible for advancing Columbia Advisory Group’s growing portfolio of regional and national accounts. Lindsay’s consulting and advisory experience in healthcare, higher education, financial services and private equity complements the company’s portfolio of clients.
Lindsay has spent the last 30 years growing sales, consulting and outsourcing organizations to higher levels. His sales teams are always top producers. Lindsay cares about people first – after all, that’s what Business Development is all about. He is committed to the challenge of one of his favorite authors “you must break the mold of the predictable in pursuit of the incredible”, which is how Lindsay approaches every day.
Lindsay’s personal mission statement is “to enrich the lives of others.” He is an active volunteer with various organizations that support orphan care and child advocacy. He is a founding member of We are HERE, and the founder of Dad2Dad. He has lead humanitarian and medical mission trips to Bolivia. He is currently serving as the Vice Chair on the Board for RightNow Media.
Lindsay earned his BBA degree in Finance & Business from Stephen F. Austin State University. He and his wife, Caroline, reside in Plano, Texas. When away from Columbia, Lindsay enjoys trail running, gardening, anything and everything outdoors, especially hiking with his 2 rescue dogs.
